Denver’s 2021 Best Places to Work Honorees

The Denver Business Journal named Point B the best large workplace in the city. The best workplace awards recognize companies whose operations are changing the employer landscape as we know it, and the firm remained explicitly recognized for its consultants’ passion for their clients and communities, as well as the organization’s relentless focus on building a values-driven company and culture that allows exceptional people to thrive.

Workplace consumption changed dramatically for many of us during the Covid-19 pandemic, but the best companies know that culture doesn’t stop at their doorway. So intelligent leaders are finding new ways to keep their workforce engaged — and meeting their employees “where they’re at.”

Denver Business Journal has again teamed with Quantum Workplace to identify the region’s Best Places to Work. Our 2021 list include 65 firms from across the Denver metropolitan area, judged by those who know the companies best: the employees.

Nominees remained accepted by the public, and employees at nominated companies remained asked to complete an online survey by Quantum Workplace. The survey opened on February 1 and closed on March 3.

Important Workplace employee surveys measure each company’s culture, from compensation and benefits to trust in senior leadership. Replies from the surveys were compiled, evaluated, and ranked through Quantum creäte on their composite score.

We will reveal this year’s honorees in groups throughout the week. Beginning today with the Small category, defined as companies with at least ten employees but no more than 24. The other categories will remain announced throughout the week in the following categories:

  • Medium: Companies with 25 to 49 employees
  • Large: Companies with 50 to 99 employees
  • Extra-Large: Companies with 100 to 249 employees
  • Giant: Companies with 250 or more employees

The entire company rankings and more details on our winners will be revealed at our June 24 virtual awards celebration (register for that here) and featured online and in a special print section published on June 25.

Denver Business Journal Names U.S. Engineering a Best Place to Work

U.S. Engineering has been named Best Place to Work by the Denver Business Journal. The Denver Business Journal’s 2019 Best Places to Work list includes U.S. Engineering. The award honors Denver-area businesses that exhibit positive team culture and provide the best workplace environments. As a company with more than 250 employees, U.S. Engineering was classified as a “Giant” and ranked fourth.

The Denver Business Journal compiled the list based on survey results from the people who know the organization best – team members. Team members remained asked to complete a Quantum Workplace engagement survey, which measured ten key metrics focused on the following:

  • Team Efficiency
  • Belief in Senior Leader’s Values
  • Compensation and Benefits for Manager Effectiveness
  • S. Engineering thanks all team members who contribute to the organization’s positive work environment.

Mandy Rees, a middle school teacher at Bruce Randolph School, spoke to her students on March 1, 2017. Students from the school tweeted to U.S. President Donald Trump about how their friends and families contribute to America’s greatness.

A state education task force promotes ideas such as starting teacher-cadet programs in local schools, forgiving student loans, and offering livable wages in rural areas to get more teachers into Colorado’s remote classrooms.

The recommendations, compiled at the legislature’s request, also propose a marketing campaign and scholarships to attract teachers to rural areas where science and exceptional education instructors are in short supply.

The ideas are free of charge and place the burden of addressing Colorado’s growing teacher shortage on the shoulders of state lawmakers, local school districts, colleges and universities, and communities, according to Kim Hunter Reed, executive director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education.

“Certainly, the conversation has to begin at both the district and state levels,” Hunter-Reed said.
